Artists statement

The early work is based heavily on a utilitarian ethic, adorning functional objects such as boxes, walking sticks, and benches.  While function is still a key element, the work is now more focused on conveying a particular sensibility.

Communicating a particular feeling or inspiration is always a dicey undertaking at best, and never perfect.  The challenge is to evoke that sensibility in others.  When someone reaches out to touch my work, I know I've succeeded.
